Rome, April 29, 2026 – A recent police operation in the Quarticciolo district of Rome has uncovered a sophisticated drug dealing hub operating from the service areas of a local bar. The raid led to the seizure of significant quantities of cocaine and hashish, already divided into doses, and the arrest of the bar owner. This discovery was part of a broader police blitz targeting various potential drug hiding spots across the neighborhood.

Extensive Search Operation Uncovers Drug Hub

The operation, which involved meticulously searching perimeter walls, gardens, pedestrian underpasses, condominium meters, manholes, and bushes, aimed to uncover hidden stashes of narcotics. A crucial breakthrough came through a tip-off via the YouPol application, which reported alleged drug dealing activities within a commercial establishment.

Upon inspection, officers discovered a locked cabinet in the bar’s service area containing 120 grams of cocaine powder and 100 grams of hashish, both ready for sale. Alongside the drugs, a precision electronic scale and various cutting tools, including a knife with drug residue, were found. The premises have since been seized.

Bar Owner Arrested, Illegal Firearm Found

Following the discovery at the bar, a search warrant was executed at the owner’s residence. There, authorities located a .38 caliber revolver with its serial number obliterated, further implicating the individual. The bar owner has been taken into custody.

This incident is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the area. The police operation also yielded further arrests in the vicinity.

Additional Arrests in Quarticciolo and Via Ostuni

In a separate incident on Viale Palmiro Togliatti, a young Tunisian man was apprehended after attempting to evade police. He was found to be in possession of cocaine and crack cocaine. Furthermore, on Via Ostuni, police intervened during an attempted drug exchange, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old Tunisian pusher who was carrying doses of cocaine and hashish.

These arrests highlight the persistent efforts of law enforcement to disrupt drug networks within Rome’s neighborhoods. The use of citizen tip-offs and comprehensive search strategies are proving effective in tackling the issue of drug distribution.

Community Impact and Ongoing Investigations

The presence of a drug hub within a seemingly legitimate business raises concerns about the infiltration of criminal activities into local communities. Authorities continue to investigate the extent of the drug network and any potential connections to organized crime.

The police emphasize the importance of community cooperation and encourage residents to report suspicious activities through channels like the YouPol application, reinforcing the collective effort to maintain public safety and combat drug-related crime.

The successful bust at the Quarticciolo bar serves as a strong message to those involved in drug trafficking, demonstrating that law enforcement agencies are actively working to dismantle such operations and bring offenders to justice. The seized drugs and firearm represent a significant blow to the local illicit drug trade.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the ongoing investigation or potential charges against the arrested individuals. The focus remains on continuing to monitor and intervene in areas known for drug-related activities to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

The police department has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a strong presence in high-risk areas and utilizing all available resources to combat drug trafficking effectively.
