Naples, June 15 – An innovative event named ‘Transfluenze’ is set to take place on June 16 at 6 PM at the Albergo dei Poveri in Naples. This initiative aims to create a close dialogue between fashion, business, and education, bridging the gap between talent and production, enterprise and new creative generations, and training with the market. The event will involve faculty and students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, alongside leading figures in the southern Italian fashion system with international prominence.

Bridging Academia, Industry, and Young Talent

The core concept of ‘Transfluenze’ is inspired by the expansion of a glacier’s tongue from one valley to an adjacent one, symbolizing the desired outcome of connecting various facets of the fashion world. The collections created by the students are a direct result of this reflective approach, focusing on sustainability, technological innovation, craftsmanship, identity, and the culture of Made in Italy.

The project presentation will be led by Mariangela Salvati, coordinator of the Fashion Design course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples; Natascia Rezzuti, professor of Pattern Making for Design; and Franca Corrado, professor of Fashion Design and Accessories. Salvati will specifically address the connection between the Academy, businesses, and young talents. Corrado will focus on the educational path leading to professional integration, while Rezzuti will delve into design competencies and the language between creativity and industry.

Key Discussions on Training, Talent, and Enterprise

A central part of the initiative will be a talk titled ‘Training, Talent, and Enterprise,’ moderated by Barbara Di Fenza, professor of Marketing for Fashion. Esteemed speakers from various prominent brands will contribute to the discussion:

  • Pierluigi Stampacchia (Retail Performance Director, Kiton) will explore the relationship between craftsmanship, training, and the future of luxury.
  • Mena Marano (CEO, Arav Group John Richmond) will address the challenges of contemporary fashion.
  • Raffaele Carlino (Carpisa) will illustrate how an idea can lead to a global brand and a successful enterprise.
  • Linda La Montagna (Antony Morato) will discuss building value through digital strategies.
  • Lello Antonelli (Sartoria Antonelli) will connect sartorial tradition with the skills of new generations.
  • Antonio Di Nuzzo (Second Life) will speak on circular fashion, focusing on transformation, regeneration, and value creation.

Fashion Show and Artistic Performance

Following the discussions, a fashion show will be presented by Lorenzo Crea, with the curation of Salvati, Rezzuti, and Corrado, the latter serving as the Placement Referent for Abana. Collaborators include Tommaso Meles (Photography professor, Academy), Michele Esposito (Styling and Makeup professor, Abana), Jacopo Elefante (Methods and Techniques of Fashion Project Representation professor, Abana), Enrica D’Aguanno (coordinator of the School of Artistic Design for Enterprise, Abana), and Ester Vollono (Communication Design, Abana).

An art site-specific performance curated by Mauro Maurizio Palumbo, Painting professor at Abana, will also be featured, with the participation of soprano Ilaria Tucci and the setup by Lucio Turchetta, Museology professor at Abana.

Institutional Greetings and Future Outlook

Institutional greetings will be delivered by Giuseppe Gaeta, Director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples; Clotilde Punzo, Administrative Director of Abana; Rosita Marchese, President of Abana; Enrica D’Aguanno, Coordinator of the School of Artistic Design for Enterprise at Abana; Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples; Laura Valente, responsible for cultural coordination and artistic direction of the Real Albergo dei Poveri for the Mayor of Naples; and Massimiliano Manfredi, President of the Regional Council of Campania.
