ACEA Works in Ottavia-Trionfale: Traffic Changes from April 16
ACEA Ato 2 is moving into a critical phase of the “Ottavia-Trionfale Aqueduct” project, a major undertaking valued at over 94 million euros, partly funded by the PNRR through the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. This project involves the construction of a new 5.2-kilometer connection line from the Ottavia Water Center to the new “Pineta Sacchetti” water center.
Road Modifications from April 16
The current phase of work focuses on laying the pipeline along Via Sebastiano Vinci. To facilitate the placement of the final section near the intersection with Via Cesare Castiglioni, the following road changes will be in effect from Thursday, April 16, 2026:
- Via Sebastiano Vinci: Closed between Piazza Santa Maria della Pietà and Via Cesare Castiglioni.
- The section of Via Sebastiano Vinci between Via Cesare Castiglioni and Via Carlo Livi will only be accessible in the direction of Via Carlo Livi.
Changes will also be made to traffic directions in adjacent streets:
- Via Castiglioni: Only accessible from Via di Torrevecchia.
- For those arriving from Via Carlo Livi, a mandatory left turn will be enforced at the intersection with Via Sebastiano Vinci.
Additionally, in Piazza Santa Maria della Pietà, vehicles coming from Via Trionfale/San Filippo Neri hospital will be required to turn left towards Via Franco Basaglia/Via Trionfale.
Signage for alternative routes has already been placed on the affected roads.
Parking Restrictions and Project Timeline
Regarding parking, a 24-hour parking ban will be implemented on:
- Via Cesare Castiglioni up to the entrance of the public car park.
- Via Cesare Lombroso at the intersection with Via di Torrevecchia.
The completion of these works is anticipated by the end of June 2026, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Strategic Importance of the Project
ACEA Ato 2’s intervention aims to enhance the transport of water resources from main aqueducts to the network pipelines directed towards the city center and the western districts of Rome, extending to the coast. This project is deemed strategic and essential to ensure the future water supply for the Capital, serving an estimated one million people.
Contact and Further Information
