Milano Green Week, the city’s annual environmental celebration, is set to transform Milan into a “laboratory for ecological transition” from June 10 to 14, 2026. With over 200 events spread across all nine Municipalities, this initiative aims to engage citizens in building a more resilient and environmentally conscious city.
What is Milano Green Week?
Milano Green Week is a widespread event organized by the Municipality of Milan in collaboration with numerous associations, institutions, universities, entities, companies, and committees. It focuses on promoting environmental awareness, urban green care, and climate change mitigation through a diverse program of activities.

“The Rights of Animals” Event

Description: An afternoon dedicated to animals, organized by the Environment and Green Department, LAV, Carabinieri, and the Animal Protection Guarantors of the Municipality of Milan. The event will feature discussions among institutions, associations, veterinarians, universities, and law enforcement, moderated by Gianfelice Facchetti.
Inauguration of the New Green Area in Via Toce
When: June 12, 2026, at 6:00 PM
Where: Via Toce (new green area)
Description: A symbolic inauguration of the new green and de-paved area in Via Toce, featuring a discussion titled “From Grey to Green: How Cities Change.” The event will include the Councilor for Environment and Green, Elena Grandi, and councilors from Bergamo, Brescia, Genoa, and Turin, moderated by Giulia Bassetto of Will Media, discussing urban transformation for climate change mitigation.
Walk to Discover the Green Area in Ex-Innocenti Area
When: Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 4:00 PM
Where: Ex-Innocenti area, Lambrate (near Lambretta Park)
Description: A guided walk to explore the new green area under construction, which will double the green surface of Lambretta Park as part of the Teatro alla Scala’s Magnifica Fabbrica project. This transformation will include “Water Gardens” with lawns, tree rows, canals, and water management.
“Goccia Fest 26 – Nature Makes Space”
When: Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM
Where: Goccia area (entrance from Via Privata Giampietrino 4)
Description: The first public event in the Goccia area, aimed at introducing the city to the site, its biodiversity, and the ongoing environmental regeneration process. Activities include educational workshops, guided explorations, meetings, and artistic/creative activities. This event is organized within the EUI 02-130 GOCCIA project (Green Opportunities to Clean-up Contaminants through an Interspecies Alliance), funded by the European Commission’s European Urban Initiative.
