Naples, June 3 – A large boat being towed became wedged in a narrow alley in the San Giovanni a Teduccio district of eastern Naples yesterday morning, effectively blocking the road to Boccaperti beach. Borrelli stated, “A large boat destined for Boccaperti beach got stuck between the buildings of the narrow Vicoletto Municipio in the San Giovanni a Teduccio district. While the towing vehicle managed to pass, the width of the boat made it impossible to pass between the buildings, causing a stalemate that required numerous maneuvers to resolve.”
Calls for Stricter Regulations on Exceptional Transport

MP Borrelli commented, “What happened in San Giovanni a Teduccio may seem paradoxical, but it highlights a serious problem concerning the management of exceptional transport within the urban fabric of the city. It is not possible for vehicles of such dimensions to travel on obviously unsuitable roads, with the risk of causing damage to homes, parked vehicles, infrastructure, and the transported vehicles themselves.”

He questioned whether the chosen route was truly compatible with the boat’s dimensions. “We ask that verification and planning procedures for exceptional transport in urban areas be strengthened, especially in neighborhoods characterized by narrow streets and a configuration that makes it impossible for large vehicles to pass,” the Member of Parliament concluded.
