After several sightings of the artist in the alleys and squares of Naples in recent weeks, hinting at a new project, Baby K officially announced today the release of “Tucamacarena.” The new single, produced and arranged by Room9 and written by Baby K and Daniele Chiarolanza, is set to drop tomorrow, Friday, June 5, 2026, under Columbia Records/Sony Music Italy.

A Summer of Desire, Play, and Freedom in Naples

At the heart of “Tucamacarena” is a summer experienced through desire, play, and freedom, moving away from postcard stereotypes and immersing itself instead in the authentic vitality of Naples. The city, a symbol of passion, chaos, music, and encounters, becomes the true backdrop for this new musical endeavor. Baby K sings, “Give me a kiss under Maradona’s mural,” elevating the Neapolitan capital to a genuine “hit” destination for the season.

The Fusion of Iconic Dances: “Tucamacarena”

The title itself plays with popular imagery, as “Tucamacarena” merges and reinterprets two iconic dances. This creates a contemporary game of seduction between bodies seeking each other in the scorching alleys of a Neapolitan summer. “Tucamacarena,” explains Baby K, “is about two people who know they are a bad idea, but continue to choose each other anyway. I liked the idea of an almost illegal love, which in the song moves between images of smuggling, fugitives, and small crimes of the heart: those situations where you know it will probably end badly, but you go for it anyway.”

Naples: A Romantic and Rebellious Summer Postcard

Baby K emphasizes the personal connection to the song’s national-popular imagery: “At the same time, it’s a song full of national-popular images that I feel deeply mine: Naples, Maradona’s mural, sirens in the night, the Mediterranean, Latin influences. It’s a romantic and rebellious summer postcard, which speaks of the people, the populace, and that place where I feel at home.” The single promises to be a captivating blend of personal narrative and vibrant urban landscape, offering listeners a unique glimpse into the artist’s perception of Naples.

The song is expected to resonate with a wide audience, capturing the essence of summer romance and the magnetic pull of Naples. Its release marks another significant moment for Baby K, further cementing her status as a prominent figure in the Italian music scene with a track that is both catchy and deeply rooted in cultural imagery.
