Police Investigate Intentional Throwing of Scooter
According to reports from Napoli Today, the scooter was allegedly thrown by two young men from an elevated parking area. The two individuals were reportedly captured on surveillance cameras in the area, riding a scooter without helmets. Investigators from the San Paolo police station are actively searching for the suspects.
The victim herself suggested to the police that the scooter might have been thrown intentionally. She is currently hospitalized at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples, where her prognosis is reserved, though her life is not believed to be in danger.
Previous Incidents and Public Safety Concerns
This incident follows other concerning events involving scooters and bicycles. In November 2025, a young man in Turin was left quadriplegic after being hit by a bicycle thrown from the Murazzi. In July 2020, a 31-year-old woman in Milan was left in critical condition after a scooter collision with a truck.
These incidents highlight growing concerns about public safety and the misuse of personal mobility devices in Italian cities. Local authorities are increasingly focused on regulating the use of scooters and addressing reckless behavior that endangers pedestrians.
Ongoing Investigation and Search for Suspects
The police investigation is ongoing, with officers reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness testimonies to piece together the exact circumstances of the incident. The focus remains on identifying and apprehending the two young men believed to be responsible for throwing the scooter.
The Naples community awaits further developments in this case, emphasizing the need for stricter measures to prevent such dangerous acts and ensure the safety of pedestrians in urban areas.
