MILAN – Four students from Valle d’Aosta recently participated in a significant two-day event in Milan, focusing on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The event, titled “Italy of the PNRR. Creating the model, building a system, guiding the future. A challenge that tells its story,” took place on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology.
National Event Highlights PNRR Progress
The event featured a remote address by President Giorgia Meloni and an in-person presentation by the Minister for European Affairs, Tommaso Foti, who outlined the “last mile” of the PNRR projects. This gathering brought together 20 school delegations from across Italy, each comprising four students (two girls and two boys selected from a high school in each region), totaling 80 young participants and 20 teachers.
Valle d’Aosta Representation
The Valle d’Aosta delegation included students Lorenzo Pignatelli (Classical Lyceum), Maxime Pieiller (Artistic Lyceum), Alessia Fratini (Artistic Lyceum), and Margherita Di Tommaso (Musical Lyceum). They were accompanied by Professor Anna Piccirilli, who also took part in teacher training sessions.
Starting from Sunday, May 24, the students were immersed in a comprehensive training program and a workshop organized by Scuola Futura, the national training portal for schools. These sessions were held at the Da Vinci Museum, where students collaborated in teams composed of peers from various schools. Their collective efforts culminated in presentations during the national conference.
Professor Piccirilli highlighted the intensive nature of the experience: “It was four days of intense work. An immersive and challenging experience, but also captivating and highly formative, not only due to the complexity of the task the students were called upon to perform but also for the emotions and the great human energy that involved skills, abilities, and human resources. It allowed for the building of solid bonds, constructive comparison, and a sense of belonging among young people and among teachers.”
Focus on PNRR Measures for Schools
During the training, the young participants were tasked with analyzing, interpreting, and re-elaborating data related to the 10 measures implemented through PNRR funds for schools. These measures cover crucial areas such as safety, family, openness, well-being, sustainability, innovation, inclusion, competence, knowledge, and future.
The students then presented their findings in the form of data art, which are creative infographics. These presentations took place both within the workshop setting and in the presence of ministers and representatives from European institutions, showcasing their innovative approach to understanding and communicating complex data.
Scuola Futura’s Role
Scuola Futura plays a vital role beyond just providing updates for administrative staff and pedagogical guidance for teachers. It also serves as a platform for promoting school activities and organizing events. In the past academic year, the Licam (Liceo Classico e Artistico Musicale) actively participated in four Scuola Futura initiatives, offering its students valuable experiences that fostered profound cultural, methodological, and human development.
The participation of Valle d’Aosta students in this national event underscores the region’s commitment to engaging its youth in critical national initiatives and preparing them for future challenges, particularly in understanding and contributing to the PNRR’s objectives.
