Two Incidents on Naples Ring Road Lead to Traffic and Delays
Naples, June 25, 2026 – The Naples Ring Road (Tangenziale di Napoli) experienced significant traffic disruptions this afternoon following two separate accidents, both occurring in the Pozzuoli direction before 4:00 PM. The incidents caused considerable delays and congestion for commuters.
First Accident Near Corso Malta
The first accident involved a rear-end collision between two cars. This incident took place between the Corso Malta exit and the Capodimonte tunnel, bringing traffic to a crawl in the affected section of the ring road.
SUV Collides with Van Near Arenella Exit
Shortly after the initial incident, a second collision occurred further along the same stretch of road, also in the direction of Pozzuoli. Near the Arenella exit, an SUV collided with a van. Operators from Tangenziale di Napoli were dispatched to both scenes to manage the situation and assist those involved.
The exact causes of both accidents are currently under investigation. There have been no immediate reports of serious injuries, but the incidents led to inevitable repercussions on the already busy Naples Ring Road, causing frustration for many drivers.
Traffic remained heavily congested for several hours following the accidents as emergency services and road operators worked to clear the scenes and restore normal traffic flow.
