Tommaso Tanzilli Confirmed as President of Lazio Tourism Bilateral Body

Rome, Italy – Tommaso Tanzilli has been re-confirmed as President of the Lazio Tourism Bilateral Body (EBTL), with Roberta Valenti serving as Vice President. This decision was made during a meeting of the Entity’s Executive Committee, where 18 newly appointed members unanimously endorsed their leadership for the next five years. Tanzilli represents the employers’ side, while Valenti represents the trade unions.

The EBTL plays a crucial role in the Lazio region’s tourism sector, acting as a unified and bipartite body. It is composed of employer associations from Confcommercio, Confesercenti, and Confindustria, alongside trade unions Filcams CGIL, Fisascat CISL, and Uiltucs UIL.

EBTL’s Key Functions and Impact

For over three decades, the EBTL has been a vital resource for the Lazio tourism industry, providing essential services in:

  • Training: Offering programs to enhance skills and professional development within the sector.
  • Employment Support: Facilitating job placement and career advancement for employees.
  • Contractual Welfare: Ensuring the well-being and rights of workers through collective bargaining.

Moreover, the EBTL’s Observatory is the official provider of data and analysis on hotel and extra-hotel tourist movements for the Municipality of Rome Capital. This invaluable data helps inform policy decisions and strategic planning for the city’s tourism development.

Territorial Presence and Upcoming Initiatives

In addition to its central office in Rome, the EBTL maintains territorial branches in the provinces of Frosinone, Latina, Rieti, and Viterbo, ensuring widespread support across the Lazio region.

Among the upcoming initiatives, the EBTL is actively involved in “Roma al Lavoro” (Rome at Work), a Job Day event for Rome Capital. This event, promoted by the Department of School, Training, and Work of Rome Capital and organized by the Network of Employment Orientation Centers, will take place on February 12th at the University of Roma Tre. Following this, the EBTL will organize sector-specific Job Days across all provinces of Lazio.

Why is EBTL’s Role Crucial for Lazio’s Tourism?

The continuity of leadership at EBTL, with experienced figures like Tanzilli and Valenti, ensures stability and a continued focus on the strategic development of tourism in Lazio. Their work is instrumental in:

  • Providing essential data: The Observatory’s insights are critical for understanding tourism trends and making informed decisions.
  • Supporting employment: EBTL’s initiatives help connect job seekers with opportunities and ensure a skilled workforce.
  • Promoting welfare: By advocating for employees’ rights and well-being, EBTL contributes to a healthier and more sustainable tourism sector.

The re-election of Tanzilli and Valenti underscores the commitment to fostering a robust and thriving tourism industry in Lazio, a region rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty.
