Solidarity Caravan from Rome to Mongolia to Support Schools
Rome, May 28, 2026 – A solidarity caravan organized by Asia and MotoForPeace, comprising 12 motorcyclists and a support van, is set to depart from Rome on Saturday, May 29, 2026. Their ultimate destination is Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with the primary objective of delivering vital donations to six schools located in the Songino Khairkhan and Bayanzurkh Districts.
Journey Details and Participants
The group of 12 motorcyclists, all members of various police forces, will don white helmets throughout their extensive journey. The caravan includes international participation, with colleagues from Spain and Turkey joining the Italian contingent. The initiative, promoted in collaboration with the Association for International Solidarity in Asia, was officially presented at the Trieste Police Headquarters on May 28, 2026.
The journey is anticipated to span over 40 days, covering a vast expanse of diverse landscapes and cultures. On Sunday morning, the caravan is scheduled to arrive in the northeastern Italian city of Trieste, from where they will embark in the afternoon for Turkey.
Route and Institutional Engagements
Matteo Castriotta, a collaborator with the MotoForPeace association, outlined the ambitious route: “The caravan will traverse Cappadocia before entering the Georgian state. From there, they will cross Chechnya to reach Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Subsequently, they will re-enter Kazakhstan, cover another segment of Russia, and finally enter Mongolia.” Upon reaching their destination, institutional meetings are planned to formalize the delivery of aid and strengthen international ties.
Trieste Stopover and Local Support
During their stopover in Trieste, the caravan will be warmly welcomed at 10:45 AM in Piazza Verdi by administrative and military authorities. The local section of the National Association of State Police (Anps), along with its Centauro-Marcello Forti motorcycle group, will provide assistance. The Association of Assistance Services will also contribute to supporting the initiative. The solidarity journey has garnered significant institutional backing, receiving patronage from the Italian Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, and the Municipality of Trieste.
Mission to Support Mongolian Schools
The core mission of this expedition is to provide tangible support to schools in remote regions of Mongolia. The donations are expected to address critical needs, potentially including educational materials, infrastructure improvements, or other resources essential for fostering a conducive learning environment for students in the designated districts.
This cross-continental journey not only represents an act of humanitarian aid but also serves as a testament to international cooperation and the dedication of individuals from various police forces to global solidarity. The participants’ commitment to this cause underscores a broader effort to contribute positively to communities beyond their national borders.
The successful execution of this mission is expected to have a lasting impact on the recipient schools, offering improved educational opportunities and fostering a sense of connection with the international community. The journey itself, with its challenging route and diverse encounters, is poised to be an inspiring narrative of dedication and altruism.
