NAPLES, March 24, 2026 – Six individuals have been arrested by the State Police in Naples on charges of criminal association aimed at drug trafficking. The arrests are the culmination of investigations coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA).
Details of the Arrests and Charges
The six individuals, aged between 35 and 50, face charges related to an organized drug trafficking ring. For two of the suspects, the preliminary investigation judge (GIP) ordered detention in prison, while the remaining four were placed under house arrest.
Investigation Initiated in Summer 2023
The investigations by the Naples Mobile Squad began in the summer of 2023, following the arrest in flagrante delicto of an individual for offenses related to weapons and drug trafficking. This initial arrest led police to uncover a highly structured organization dedicated to narcotics trafficking.
The Organized Drug Trafficking Ring
The criminal group was involved in the trafficking of both cocaine and “light drugs” and operated with a well-established division of roles. At the head of the group was a repeat offender with specific prior convictions. One of his accomplices was responsible for managing relationships with buyers and supplying the drugs, also distributing individual doses to the pushers.
Roles within the Organization
- Leader: A repeat offender with previous drug-related convictions.
- Accomplice: Managed buyer relations and drug supply, including distribution to pushers.
- Other members: Responsible for concealing, storing, safeguarding, and packaging the drugs.
The gang operated primarily in the central area of Naples, supplying consumers from across the entire province.
Law Enforcement Action
The precautionary measures ordered by the GIP were also served by agents from the Campania Crime Prevention Department and K9 unit personnel from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, specially equipped for drug detection.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in Naples to combat organized crime and drug trafficking within the region.
