Extensive Search Efforts Underway for Missing 69-Year-Old
Subiaco, March 11 – Search efforts are continuing without pause for Enzo Peperoni, a 69-year-old man who disappeared on Saturday, March 7. The family has been in anguish for days, with no news of their loved one. Hope remains for positive news in a case that has gripped the communities of Subiaco and Affile.
Rescue Operations Intensify
The rescue operation has been ongoing since last weekend, involving carabinieri, firefighters (including a helicopter unit), and the finance police. This massive operation has focused on the vicinity of Ponte San Mauro, near the Aniene River. This area is characterized by its rugged terrain and dense vegetation. Initial searches of the river have yielded no results, leading to an expansion of the search perimeter to the surrounding woods. The investigation is proceeding step by step, with one hypothesis suggesting Peperoni may have gotten lost in the wooded area.
Last Seen in Subiaco
Enzo Peperoni, who is visually impaired, was last seen taking a public bus to Subiaco and disembarking at the terminal in Piazza Falcone. Surveillance cameras in the area captured footage of a man, identified by his family as Peperoni due to his clothing and movements. He was wearing a red wool cap and a green jacket. Since then, all trace of him has been lost. Furthermore, the missing man left his documents and mobile phone at home. His photograph is being widely circulated on social media in an effort to gather any useful information that could lead to his discovery.
