Rome, June 1, 2026 – A violent assault took place outside the Fiesta nightclub on Via delle Tre Fontane in the Eur district of Rome, where a public relations (PR) professional was severely beaten. The incident occurred in the early hours between Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31. Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation to ascertain the full details of the event.
Investigations Underway
Investigators are working to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the assault. According to initial reports, an emergency call to 112 reported a man, identified as a PR, being attacked outside the club near a petrol station. The victim, who sustained abrasions to his face, was transported to a hospital for medical attention.
Previous Incidents at the Location
This incident is not the first violent event to occur at or near the Fiesta nightclub. In July of last year, a bouncer was shot and injured in front of the venue. The shooter was identified by investigators as Lorenzo Sagoni, 34, also known by the nickname ‘Malavita’. Sagoni was subsequently sentenced to 8 years in prison in an expedited trial for attempted murder. An accomplice who assisted him in fleeing the scene was sentenced to four years. At least three shots were fired, with one bullet striking the bouncer in the shoulder. According to findings from the mobile squad and the prosecutor’s office, Sagoni had been removed from the club by the bouncer before returning and opening fire.
Broader Context of Violence in Rome
The incident adds to a series of recent crime reports in Rome. Recent headlines have included a cloudburst causing flooded streets and fallen trees, a fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle in Fiumicino, and a shocking case of a woman allegedly kidnapped and raped for three days in an occupied building in Tor Cervara. Authorities also recently discovered a large warehouse containing 10,400 pairs of counterfeit Hermès shoes.
Public Transport Strikes and City Life
The city has also faced disruptions due to public transport strikes, with metro, tram, and train services at risk for 24 hours on recent days. Despite these challenges, Rome continues to offer a vibrant cultural scene, with events such as the recent rescue of a Honey Buzzard found on Lavinio beach, returning from Africa, and numerous weekend events, including dining guides for the best Roman-style pizzas and seaside restaurants.
Authorities are committed to ensuring public safety and addressing the root causes of such violent incidents while maintaining the city’s appeal as a major European capital.
