Naples, April 27, 2026 – The city of Naples is preparing to host a major historical and cultural event for football enthusiasts and beyond. From June 5 to June 15, 2026, the Federico II University, Monte Sant’Angelo campus, will be the venue for “A Century of Azzurro on a journey with the World Cup,” described as the largest and most comprehensive exhibition in Italy on the history of the FIFA World Cup.
A Journey Through a Century of Football History
The exhibition will offer visitors a unique opportunity to delve into a hundred years of football history, starting from 1930 to the present day. It will showcase over 200 original memorabilia, representing iconic figures and moments that have shaped the sport. Legendary names such as Puskas, Pelé, Beckenbauer, Riva, Cruijff, Zoff, Baggio, Zidane, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lamine Yamal will be celebrated through a rich collection of artifacts.
Special Tribute to Diego Armando Maradona
A significant portion of the exhibition will be dedicated to the Argentine football legend, Diego Armando Maradona. This special section is organized in collaboration with the Maradona Museum of Massimo Vignati, the Nr Museum of Nicola and Enzo Raccuglia, and the renowned professor Bruno Siciliano and his staff. It promises to be a poignant tribute to one of football’s most revered figures, deeply connected to the city of Naples.
Inauguration and Special Guest
The inauguration of “A Century of Azzurro” is scheduled for June 5. The event will feature a special testimonial, Pedro Pablo Pasculli, who will exclusively bring a replica of the World Cup trophy won by Argentina in Mexico in 1986, famously captained by Maradona.

The exhibition is promoted by the S.Anna Association for Sport, which represents interests in the Chamber of Deputies, led by Aldo Rossi Merighi and Sabrina Trombetti.
