‘Vedi Napoli e poi Mangia’: A Culinary Journey in Naples from April 17th to 19th
The fourth edition of the highly successful “Vedi Napoli e poi Mangia” (See Naples and then Eat) event continues to delight locals and tourists alike, running from April 17th to 19th, 2026. This culinary festival, conceived, supported, and promoted by the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples, offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich gastronomic heritage of the region.
Under the artistic direction and scientific curation of anthropologist Marino Niola, all events are free to attend. However, reservations are mandatory and can be made through Eventbrite.
Event Schedule:
The weekend program kicks off with a tribute to the cuisine of the renowned Italian playwright Eduardo De Filippo:
- Friday, April 17th, at 11:00 AM: At Circolo Rari Nantes, the spotlight will be on “Spaghetti alle vongole fujute. Il Quarto Stato del mare” (Spaghetti with Fleeing Clams. The Fourth Estate of the Sea). Marino Niola will share insights, followed by a tasting prepared by Chef Emanuele Davascio. The event will also feature an artistic performance titled “Leggenda dal mare” (Legend from the Sea) by Gennaro Monti and Sonia De Rosa.
- Saturday, April 18th, at 11:00 AM: The Chiesa San Francesco e Santa will host “Il Casatiello dolce. Impasto profumato, gesto rituale” (The Sweet Casatiello. Fragrant Dough, Ritual Gesture). Rossella Galletti will narrate the story of this traditional dish, with a tasting curated by Chef Alfredo Ummarino. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Rosita Rendina and Vincenzo Napolitano with “Napoli in punta di voce” (Naples on the Tip of the Voice).
- Sunday, April 19th, at 11:00 AM: The Monastero delle Trentatrè will be the setting for “Polpo alla luciana. Sirena in maionese” (Luciana-style Octopus. Mermaid in Mayonnaise). Elisabetta Moro will recount its history, and Chef Domenico Candela will offer a tasting. The musical performance “Neapolis mediterranea” (Mediterranean Naples) will be presented by Fiorenza Calogero and Marcello Vitale.

Tourist Information and Services:
To assist visitors, four tourist information points are operational daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the following locations:
- Piazza Plebiscito (corner of Via Cesario Console)
- Piazza del Gesù
- Via Morghen
- Molo Angioino
Additionally, in Piazza del Gesù, self-cleaning restrooms equipped with smart technology, disabled access, and changing facilities are available daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
