Milan, February 20, 2026 – The photographic exhibition ‘Superheroes – Protecting Children Together’ by the State Police officially opened today to the public at Palazzo Reale. This initiative, conceived and executed by the Cyber Security Operations Center of the Postal Police Lombardy, is a collaborative effort with the Municipality of Milan, Terre des Hommes Italia, and Coriandoli per Shanti Bhavan Onlus.
Raising Awareness Against Online Child Exploitation
The primary objective of the exhibition is to raise public awareness regarding the fight against pedopornography, abuse, and online grooming of minors, phenomena that are increasingly insidious in the digital age.
The exhibition sheds light on the daily, often silent, work of Postal Police operators involved in investigations against the sexual exploitation of minors online. This demanding work requires advanced IT skills, psychological balance, and strong emotional management capabilities. Investigators operate in complex scenarios, navigating digital platforms and international networks, with the ultimate goal of identifying perpetrators and protecting victims.
Distinguished Guests at the Inauguration
The inauguration was attended by several prominent figures, including the Prefect of Milan, Claudio Sgaraglia; the Quaestor, Bruno Megale; Councillor Marco Granelli; the Central Director for Scientific Police and Cyber Security, Luigi Rinella; and Domenico De Maio from the Milan-Cortina Foundation. Numerous other civil and military authorities were also present.
50 Photographs: Vulnerability, Courage, and Dedication
The exhibition, offering free admission from February 19 to 22, features 50 photographs taken by police operators Ester Lo Feudo, Marco Domizi, and Giovanni Marcellino. These images, accompanied by texts from journalist and screenwriter Rosy Della Ragione, powerfully convey:
- The vulnerability of victims
- The inner strength of minors coping with trauma
- The human and professional burden experienced by the agents on the front lines
The result is a visually impactful and emotionally resonant narrative designed to engage viewers in a journey of awareness.
Prevention and Digital Literacy: A Community Effort
The initiative is specifically aimed at families, schools, and the entire educational community, emphasizing that prevention is the most effective tool in combating online crimes against minors. Informative panels within the exhibition provide practical advice for safe and conscious online navigation, offering useful tools for parents and teachers who guide young people in responsible digital technology use.
This exhibition underscores the critical importance of collective action in safeguarding children in the digital realm and highlights the unwavering commitment of the State Police to this cause.
