Milan Civil Week 2026: “Together. The Society of Trust” Unites Citizens for a Better Future
Milan, May 7th, 2026 – The vibrant city of Milan is set to host the eighth edition of “Milan Civil Week,” a significant festival dedicated to active and supportive citizenship. Kicking off today, May 7th, and running until May 10th, the event, themed “Together. The Society of Trust,” aims to foster a sense of community and collaboration in addressing contemporary challenges. Palazzo Giureconsulti will serve as the central hub for a myriad of events, workshops, and performances, complemented by hundreds of initiatives spread across the city and its province.
A Collective Voice for Hope and Engagement
Organized by Corriere della Sera – Buone Notizie, the Municipality of Milan, and the Forum del Terzo Settore, in collaboration with Csv Milano, Milan Civil Week emphasizes the power of collective action. “‘Together’ because there is no other way to face the challenges of this historical moment. And because with ‘Buone Notizie’ we continue to discover a lot of positive and creative energy that runs through our country and that animates men and women committed to creating a fairer, more cohesive, and supportive society,” stated Elisabetta Soglio, head of “Buone Notizie.”
Opening Dialogue on Peace and a Rich Program of Events
The week’s proceedings will officially begin this evening at 6:00 PM with a compelling dialogue between Cardinal and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, and the director of “Corriere,” Luciano Fontana. Their discussion will center on the critical theme of “Together for Peace.” The opening ceremony will also feature the Mayor Giuseppe Sala and the actor and poet Lorenzo Maragoni, who will conclude the evening with a monologue.
Throughout the subsequent days, Palazzo Giureconsulti will become the epicenter of the cultural program titled “Capire” (Understanding), curated by Corriere. This will include a marathon of meetings, also accessible via live streaming on Corriere.it. A distinguished lineup of guests is expected, including Minister Alessandra Locatelli, Javier Zanetti, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, Anna Danesi, Benedetta Parodi and Fabio Caressa, Gherardo Colombo, Enrico Intra, Carlo Cottarelli, and Ferruccio de Bortoli, among others. The event will culminate on Saturday at 6:30 PM with a performance by the “Coro Divertimento Vocale.”
Innovation and Social Impact: A Market for Work Integration
Adding a new dimension to this year’s edition, Milan Civil Week will host a market featuring products that directly finance work integration projects. This initiative underscores the event’s commitment to tangible social impact and economic empowerment within the community.
