Attempted Murder in Primavalle: Man Stabs Ex-Partner’s Friend
Rome, May 10, 2026 – A 41-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly breaking into his ex-partner’s home and stabbing a 31-year-old man in the neck and back. The incident took place on Saturday morning in Via dei Monti di Primavalle, in the Primavalle district of Rome.
Break-in and Stabbing Driven by Jealousy
According to initial reconstructions, a 41-year-old Ecuadorian citizen, who still possessed keys to the apartment, entered his ex-partner’s home. He reportedly found her with a 31-year-old Moroccan man. In a fit of jealousy, the 41-year-old allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked the other man, striking him twice in the neck and then in the back as he attempted to flee.
Victim Hospitalized, Out of Danger
Emergency services (118) transported the victim to Gemelli Polyclinic. Fortunately, his condition was declared to be out of life-threatening danger. Meanwhile, Carabinieri from the Roma Montespaccato station quickly intervened, apprehending the assailant and securing the scene. The weapon used in the attack, a kitchen knife, was recovered and seized.
Arrest for Attempted Murder
Following the initial response, technical investigations were carried out by the Carabinieri of the 7th section of the Rome investigative unit. The 41-year-old man was subsequently arrested on charges of attempted murder and transferred to the Regina Coeli prison.
This incident highlights the dangers of domestic disputes escalating into violence and the importance of immediate police intervention in such cases.
