Milan, May 5, 2026 – The Luiss School of Law today inaugurated its new advanced course, “The Law of Listed Companies and the Reform of the Consolidated Law on Finance,” at the Milano Luiss Hub. This launch marks a significant expansion of the university’s educational offerings, targeting professionals, legal firms, and businesses within Milan’s financial hub.
Strategic Importance of the TUF Reform
The event commenced with institutional greetings from Luiss Rector Paolo Boccardelli, followed by an introductory address from Federico Freni, Undersecretary of State for Economy and Finance. Freni highlighted the strategic value of the reform for Italy’s national competitiveness.
Paola Severino, President of the Luiss School of Law, commented on the significance of the event: “Today’s event inaugurates a new season for the Milanese hub of the Luiss School of Law. Together with the Business School, we are launching and enriching a catalog of postgraduate courses on topics at the intersection of law and economics. Our goal is to provide training that combines a high level of technical depth with an equally high level of preparation for the practical applications of the most important financial regulations.”
Focus on Practical Application and International Competitiveness
Severino further explained the rationale behind choosing this specific reform for the inauguration: “We selected one of the most important reforms for a change in regulatory strategies aimed at regulating the market, characterized by procedural streamlining, international competitiveness, and systemic attractiveness, in order to encourage the best international companies to invest in Italy.” She also emphasized the caliber of the faculty: “We have also brought together not only the best academics but also top-level professionals, to allow for the most balanced distribution between theoretical aspects and practical market operations.”
Operational Approach to Regulatory Changes
Umberto Tombari, Luiss Professor and Course Director, elaborated on the technical core of the program: “The reform of the Consolidated Law on Finance is more than just a regulatory update; it is a crucial juncture for the attractiveness of our capital market. We have structured the program with a highly operational approach to enable professionals to acquire the ability to transform new rules into strategic opportunities for business growth.”
Investing in Education for a Complex Regulatory Landscape
In an increasingly complex regulatory environment, Aristide Police, Dean of the Luiss School of Law, reiterated the social role of education: “In a constantly evolving regulatory context, investment in education is the only solution to complexity. The School of Law, now also in the heart of the Lombard capital, acts as a competence accelerator: our role is to provide a compass so that market protagonists are not mere executors of rules, but interpreters of a new course in economic law.”
With this new project, the Luiss School of Law strengthens its presence in Milan, promptly responding to the demand for new skills to address the latest and most complex challenges in global financial law.
