Naples, March 14 – The figure of Graziella, a profound symbol of Procida’s identity and a literary character immortalized by Alphonse de Lamartine’s novel, made a striking appearance at the Mediterranean Tourism Exchange (BMT) in Naples. Her presence garnered significant attention and appreciation from both visitors and tourism industry operators, highlighting the island’s rich cultural heritage.

Carlotta Musto Embodies Graziella’s Spirit

Carlotta Musto brought Graziella to life by donning the traditional Procidan costume. This initiative is part of a project conceived nearly a year ago by photographer Flavio Gioia, in collaboration with the Minerva Association and under the patronage of the Municipality of Procida. Graziella’s presence at the BMT was also recognized by Tg3 Campania, which featured her during its coverage of the event, further amplifying the project’s reach.

Michele Assante del Leccese, a local councilor, commented on the significance of this representation: “The ancient Procidan costume worn by Carlotta Musto is the flesh-and-blood transposition of a literary character. Graziella wandered around the BMT yesterday thanks to a project that enhances our cultural identity and makes it alive in the eyes of the public.” This statement underscores the project’s success in connecting literary heritage with contemporary cultural promotion.
