Free Dermatology Screenings in Milan to Combat Melanoma

Milan, March 19 – Free dermatology screenings will be available in Milan on March 20 and 27, aiming to raise public awareness about the crucial role of prevention and early diagnosis of melanoma and other skin cancers. This initiative is a collaboration between Bioderma (Naos group) and Lilt, coinciding with the Prevention Festival scheduled from March 23 to 29 across 12 Italian cities.

Screening Days in Milan

Residents of Milan will have two opportunities for free check-ups. The first will take place on March 20 at Largo Treves, and the second on March 27 at the Luiss Hub. These specialized dermatological examinations will be conducted within Lilt Milano Monza Brianza’s mobile clinic.

The Initiative’s Core Objective

The primary goal of this initiative is to foster a culture of dermatological prevention. It provides citizens with a tangible opportunity to undergo specialist check-ups and receive valuable information pertinent to skin health. Through this program, Bioderma reaffirms its dedication to promoting skin health and preventive practices, partnering with the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (Lilt) to enhance access to dermatological controls and disseminate greater awareness regarding the significance of early diagnosis.

Importance of Early Detection

Melanoma, a severe form of skin cancer, can be highly curable if detected and treated early. Regular skin checks and awareness of changes in moles or new skin lesions are vital for timely diagnosis. Experts emphasize that early detection significantly improves treatment outcomes and prognosis for patients.

Prevention Festival Across Italy

The Prevention Festival, running from March 23 to 29, underscores a nationwide commitment to health awareness. By engaging multiple cities, the organizers aim to reach a broad audience and encourage proactive health management. The Milan screenings are a key component of this larger national effort.

Lilt and Bioderma: A Collaborative Effort

Lilt, a long-standing organization dedicated to cancer prevention and support, brings its expertise and community outreach to this partnership. Bioderma, known for its dermatological products, contributes its commitment to skin health. Together, they form a robust alliance focused on public health education and accessible medical services.

What to Expect During the Screening

During the free screenings, individuals will be examined by qualified dermatologists. These specialists will assess skin conditions, identify any suspicious lesions, and provide guidance on sun protection and self-examination techniques. The mobile clinic ensures a convenient and accessible environment for these vital health checks.

This initiative represents a significant step towards improving public health outcomes related to skin cancer in Milan and across Italy. By offering free and accessible screenings, Lilt and Bioderma are empowering individuals to take control of their skin health and prioritize prevention.
