‘Orto Sonoro’ Celebrates Music and Nature at Naples Botanical Garden
Naples, June 8, 2026 – The Naples Botanical Garden was once again the enchanting setting for the eighth edition of ‘Orto Sonoro – A Sound for Every Plant’ yesterday, June 7. From 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with free admission, the event captivated attendees with a unique fusion of musical performances and the serene natural environment of Via Foria, 223.
The kermesse, animated by the talented young musicians of the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra and the university-based Ensemble per Federico, was directed by Maestro Gaetano Russo. This year’s iteration continued the success of previous years, drawing a strong turnout of music and nature enthusiasts.
A Harmonious Blend of Art and Environment
The event, which joyfully combines music and the environment, has become a highly anticipated annual fixture. It marked the final appointment of the ‘Concerti per Federico’ series by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti, realized with the patronage and support of the University of Naples Federico II, as part of the university’s F2 Cultura project.
During the first part of the event, numerous instrumentalists formed various chamber groups, strategically distributed along the natural pathways and spaces of the Botanical Garden. These musical strolls guided the audience towards the grand central Greenhouse.

Around 7:00 PM, all the musicians converged at the central Greenhouse for a concise symphonic concert. The performance was inaugurated by the Ensemble per Federico and subsequently continued by the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra. The program showcased a rich concentration of orchestral colors, featuring works from renowned composers such as Händel, Bizet, Offenbach, and Ennio Morricone, among others.
