Eight Denounced in Naples for Illegal Cosmetic Procedures
Naples, March 16, 2026 – Eight individuals have been denounced by the Guardia di Finanza in Naples for the unauthorized practice of medicine, specifically for performing cosmetic and aesthetic medicine treatments in private homes under precarious hygienic-sanitary conditions. The investigation, which began with monitoring social media platforms like TikTok, revealed that these individuals were advertising and carrying out procedures such as subcutaneous injections of botulinum and hyaluronic acid at prices lower than market rates.
Unlicensed Procedures and Unsafe Conditions
The operations were conducted autonomously by the eight denounced individuals, despite these invasive treatments legally requiring a specialized medical surgeon to perform them. The procedures took place in private residences or premises equipped with beds, lights, and professional equipment, but which were found to be in precarious hygienic-sanitary conditions. Furthermore, the medical devices present were deemed unsuitable to handle potential complications that might arise during the treatments.
Social Media Advertising and Financial Irregularities
The Guardia di Finanza’s investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutors’ Offices of Naples, Naples North, and Nola, uncovered that the individuals, some of whom were receiving citizen’s income or inclusion allowance, were offering these aesthetic treatments at reduced prices while operating in total tax evasion. This practice allowed them to attract clients seeking cheaper alternatives to licensed medical professionals.
Seizures and Ongoing Investigations
Following the controls, authorities seized three commercial premises, approximately 3,000 euros in cash, and various equipment and substances deemed dangerous. The seized items included 130 injectable vials of botulinum, dozens of packages of dermal filler, over 160 syringes of hyaluronic acid, and more than 3,000 needles, sterile syringes, test tubes, bottles, and tubes of anesthetic cream. These seizures highlight the scale of the illegal operations and the potential risks posed to public health.
The denunciations underscore the importance of seeking cosmetic procedures from licensed and qualified medical professionals in authorized facilities to ensure patient safety and adherence to health regulations.
