Arluno, Milan – In a significant anti-drug operation in Arluno, a municipality in the province of Milan, State Police have arrested a 47-year-old Italian citizen, already known to law enforcement, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The operation, conducted by officers from the Porta Genova Police Station’s Investigative Team, followed a meticulous observation period.
Targeted Stakeout Leads to Arrest
The investigation commenced after officers identified a suspicious apartment believed to be a hub for drug possession and dealing. On the evening of Wednesday, April 1st, around 7:00 PM, police strategically positioned themselves near the residence.
During the stakeout, officers observed the arrival of a 48-year-old man who, exhibiting suspicious behavior, approached the entrance and engaged in a quick exchange with the 47-year-old suspect.
Buyer Intercepted, Investigation Escalates
Suspecting a drug transaction, the police promptly intervened, apprehending the alleged buyer. He was found in possession of a recently purchased dose of cocaine and was subsequently reported to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotics.
Simultaneously, officers moved to stop the 47-year-old, who attempted to resist the check, further solidifying police suspicions.
Extensive Search Yields Significant Drug Seizure
A subsequent house search conducted at the suspect’s apartment confirmed the investigators’ suspicions. Inside the residence, officers discovered approximately 35 grams of cocaine, meticulously divided into several packages, along with 19 grams of hashish and 12 grams of marijuana.
In addition to the narcotics, police also seized various packaging materials, two precision electronic scales, and €800 in cash, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug dealing activities.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigations
Based on the compelling evidence gathered during the operation, the 47-year-old suspect was arrested and transferred into the custody of the judicial authorities. This operation is a part of the State Police’s ongoing and intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking and related criminal activities within the Milan area.
Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the full extent of the suspect’s involvement in drug trafficking networks and to identify any potential accomplices.
