NAPLES, June 24, 2026 – The Apple Developer Academy is marking its first decade of activity with the theme “Ten years of future.” This message encapsulates the Academy’s journey over the past years: an experience defined by innovation, education, and growth, always looking towards new opportunities for future generations.

A Decade of Transformation in Naples

The anniversary will be celebrated tomorrow, June 25th, at 11:00 AM, in the Auditorium of the San Giovanni a Teduccio university campus. This campus is the home of the collaboration established in 2016 between Apple and the Federico II University of Naples. Over ten years, this project has significantly transformed an area that once housed the former Cirio industrial chimneys, turning it into one of Europe’s leading technological hubs and a key reference point for the revitalization of East Naples.

Distinguished Guests and Success Stories

The ceremony will be attended by prominent figures, including the Rector of Federico II University, Matteo Lorito; Alisha Johnson Wilder, Senior Director for Global Community Impact at Apple; the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi; the President of the Campania Region, Roberto Fico; and, via video message, the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini. The day’s agenda also includes a panel discussion dedicated to the success stories of former Academy students, showcasing the real-world impact of their education.

Graduation and Impressive Statistics

The celebrations will continue on Friday, June 26th, at 9:30 AM, with the Graduation ceremony for the 2025-2026 class of the Apple Developer Academy, also held in the Campus Auditorium.

The numbers speak volumes about the impact of this initiative: over 3,000 developers from more than 80 countries have been trained, more than 800 applications have been developed, and over 150 students have been recognized as winners of the Swift Student Challenge, the most prestigious international award for young talents in the Apple ecosystem.

Impact on the Local Economy and Community

The Academy’s presence has not only fostered technological advancement but has also contributed significantly to the local economy by creating a vibrant hub for innovation and attracting talent. The transformation of the San Giovanni a Teduccio area into a technological landmark is a testament to the success of this partnership.

Future Prospects and Continued Growth

Looking ahead, the Apple Developer Academy aims to continue its mission of fostering talent and driving innovation. Its sustained growth and the increasing number of successful alumni underscore its vital role in preparing future generations for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. The Academy remains committed to providing cutting-edge education and practical experience, ensuring its graduates are well-equipped to contribute to the global technology landscape.

The collaboration between Apple and Federico II University serves as a model for public-private partnerships in education, demonstrating how strategic alliances can lead to significant regional development and global recognition.
