Fratricide in Primavalle: Cristiano Manca Dies After Stabbing Incident
Rome, June 25, 2026 – A violent altercation between two stepbrothers in Primavalle, a district in Rome, has resulted in the death of 38-year-old Cristiano Manca. His stepbrother, Daniele D’Agnelli, 28, initially arrested for attempted murder, is now facing charges of voluntary homicide after Manca succumbed to his injuries at Gemelli Polyclinic.
Tragic End to a Family Dispute
The incident unfolded on Wednesday evening, June 24, shortly after 9:30 PM, in an apartment on Via Federico Borromeo in the northwest quadrant of the Italian capital. What began as a heated argument between Cristiano Manca and Daniele D’Agnelli, ten years his junior, escalated rapidly. According to initial reports, D’Agnelli allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed his stepbrother under the armpit.
Emergency Response and Hospitalization
The alarm was raised by Daniele D’Agnelli’s 56-year-old partner, who was present in the apartment during the stabbing. Police patrol units from the Rome Questura and emergency medical personnel (118) swiftly arrived at the scene. Cristiano Manca, in critical condition, was rushed to Gemelli Polyclinic. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he passed away on Thursday afternoon.
Investigation Reveals Underlying Tensions
Both the victim and the alleged aggressor had previous criminal records. D’Agnelli and his partner shared the apartment with Cristiano Manca. Investigators believe that disagreements between Manca and the 56-year-old woman may have been the catalyst for the fatal confrontation. The younger brother reportedly told investigators that he stabbed Manca after the latter allegedly assaulted his partner. Numerous blood traces found inside the apartment suggest that multiple stab wounds may have been inflicted during the attack.
Arrest and Escalation of Charges
Following the tragedy, officers from the Rome Questura’s flying squad arrested Daniele D’Agnelli on charges of attempted murder and transported him to Regina Coeli prison. With Cristiano Manca’s death, the charges have been upgraded to voluntary homicide. The apartment in Primavalle has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police Continue to Piece Together Events
Investigators are continuing their work, including interviewing the woman who called for help, to fully reconstruct the sequence of events that led to the discussion turning deadly. The police aim to establish a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding Cristiano Manca’s tragic death.
