Million-Euro Richard Mille Watch Stolen in Milan Heist

Milan, June 16 – A 34-year-old Italian entrepreneur became the victim of a sophisticated robbery on Saturday evening in the upscale Brera district of Milan. Three unknown individuals forcibly removed a limited-edition Richard Mille watch, valued at one million euros, from his wrist. The incident occurred while the man was strolling with a friend on Via Fiori Chiari, a popular tourist spot.

Swift and Precise Attack in Brera

The victim, a wealthy entrepreneur on vacation in the city, was targeted by a trio of assailants specializing in luxury watch heists. The attack was described as swift and precise. According to initial reports, the couple was observed and followed before the ambush. One individual acted as a lookout, a second snatched the watch from the 34-year-old’s wrist, and a third pushed the entrepreneur against a wall to prevent any reaction.

The speed and coordination of the group suggest they may be part of a larger network of criminals known to operate in central Milan during the summer months, targeting residents and tourists for high-value wristwatches.

Frantic Chase and Taxi Intervention

Immediately after the robbery, the entrepreneur and his friend attempted to pursue the robbers, running for nearly a kilometer. During their frantic chase, they encountered a taxi. The taxi driver, unaware of the unfolding events, had just been approached by two young men near the Montanelli gardens, also running. These two individuals were later identified as accomplices of the third robber, who had taken a different escape route with the stolen watch.

The 34-year-old and his friend, desperately shouting for help, alerted the taxi driver to the situation. The two fleeing accomplices, realizing they had been spotted, veered into a nearby park, successfully evading their pursuers.

The taxi driver subsequently assisted the victim and his friend, advising them to report the incident to the authorities and driving them to file a formal complaint.

Investigation Underway, Cameras Offer Hope

Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into the robbery. In addition to the testimonies of the victims and the taxi driver, investigators are hopeful that the extensive network of public and private surveillance cameras throughout the city center will provide crucial clues. These cameras could aid in identifying the three perpetrators responsible for the audacious theft.

The Stolen Timepiece: A Collector’s Rarity

The stolen watch is a Richard Mille ‘RM011’, a highly sought-after limited-edition chronograph. This particular model is a collector’s item, known for its stellar valuation and its association with former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa, with whom the series was developed.

This incident adds to a series of similar luxury watch robberies that have plagued Milan in recent years, prompting concerns among both residents and tourists regarding personal safety and the prevalence of organized theft rings targeting high-value items.
