Tragic Fire Claims Life of Homeless Man in Campagnano di Roma
A 68-year-old Romanian homeless man perished in a fire that engulfed an abandoned farmhouse in Campagnano di Roma, near Lake Bracciano, on the night of June 12. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM, as the structure, frequently used as a makeshift shelter by homeless individuals, caught fire.
Emergency Response and Discovery
Firefighters from the local brigade, supported by a water tender, promptly responded to the scene in Vicolo del Tifo to extinguish the blaze. After the flames were brought under control, rescuers discovered the charred remains of the victim inside the farmhouse.
Investigation Underway
The man’s body has been transported to Policlinico Gemelli for an autopsy. The examination aims to ascertain the exact cause of death and determine whether the 68-year-old was already deceased at the time the fire erupted. Carabinieri officers were also dispatched to the site to conduct preliminary investigations and reconstruct the dynamics of the fire, with the goal of identifying its origin.
