Milan, June 8 – Iliad Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the French telecommunications operator, is set to establish its new headquarters in the Porta Nuova district of Milan. According to reports from MF-Milano Finanza, Iliad has reached an agreement with Coima, led by Manfredi Catella, to fully lease the second building of the Portali di Gioia 20 complex.
New Headquarters to Occupy 9,000 Square Meters
The new building, designed by Acpv Architects-Antonio Citterio Patrizia Viel, faces Via Melchiorre Gioia. It consists of two cores of different heights, featuring two terraces on the sixth and thirteenth floors. The entire structure will provide approximately 9,000 square meters of office space for Iliad Italia.
Construction of the building is in its final stages, with Iliad Italia’s relocation expected to occur in early 2027. The move will be a short distance from their current offices on Via Francesco Restelli, opposite the Lombardy Region building. This expansion underscores Iliad’s growing presence in Italy, where it currently serves over 13 million mobile and fixed-line users.
Porta Nuova Continues to Attract Major Companies
Iliad’s decision to move to Porta Nuova further solidifies the district’s appeal for both national and international companies. The area’s second phase of development continues to draw significant businesses. In Coima’s third building in the area, the multi-tenant Pirelli 35, companies such as Adidas, Alfasigma, Alpitour World, Condè Nast, Galderma, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, Moody’s, and TeamSystem have established their presence in the past year.
Iliad’s Growth Trajectory in Italy
The move to a larger, dedicated headquarters reflects Iliad’s substantial growth since its entry into the Italian market. With a rapidly expanding user base, the company requires more extensive facilities to accommodate its operations and workforce. This strategic relocation aligns with Iliad’s long-term vision for continued expansion and market penetration in Italy.
Impact on Milan’s Commercial Real Estate Market
The agreement between Iliad and Coima highlights the robust health of Milan’s commercial real estate market, particularly in prime locations like Porta Nuova. The district remains a highly sought-after destination for businesses seeking modern, well-connected, and prestigious office spaces. This trend is expected to continue, with ongoing demand from both domestic and international firms.
The relocation of a major telecommunications player like Iliad is also anticipated to have a positive ripple effect on the local economy, potentially leading to job creation and increased activity in ancillary services within the Porta Nuova area.
Further details regarding the internal fit-out and specific operational plans for the new headquarters are expected to be announced closer to the relocation date in early 2027.
