Rome Allocates €22 Million for Safety and Infrastructure in 16 Brescia Municipalities
Rome, May 15 – Over 22 million euros are set to arrive from Rome to the Brescia province, designated for investments in public works aimed at enhancing the safety of buildings and the territory for the 2026-2028 triennium. This significant allocation, announced on May 9, 2026, stems from an inter-ministerial decree promoted by Undersecretary Nicola Molteni in agreement with the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti.
League Parliamentarians Express Satisfaction
Brescian parliamentarians from the League party expressed their satisfaction with the news, stating in a note, “Thanks to the League’s commitment in the Government, various long-awaited interventions and public works will be financed, such as the requalification and maintenance of roads, the improvement of road networks, the safety of buildings, and energy efficiency.”
Sixteen municipalities are set to benefit from these resources, ranging from Adro to Verolanuova, and from Piancogno to Rudiano. These funds will allow local administrations to address critical infrastructure needs, including road improvements, seismic upgrades for schools, and measures to mitigate hydrogeological risks.
Montichiari Receives Largest Share, Other Municipalities Benefit
Montichiari will receive the most substantial contribution, totaling over 3.8 million euros. These funds will primarily be invested in energy efficiency interventions in schools, with an additional 400,000 euros allocated for the safety of Via Europa.
Four other municipalities-Calvisano, Mazzano, Ospitaletto, and Verolanuova-will each receive 2.5 million euros. Calvisano plans to use these funds for extraordinary maintenance, seismic adaptation, and energy efficiency improvements at the middle school on Via San Michele and the kindergarten in Viadana. Mazzano will focus on seismic safety for the main kindergarten and the municipal building. Ospitaletto’s allocation is earmarked for schools, road networks, and a lamination tank. Verolanuova, meanwhile, will finance a cycle path towards Pontevico.
Diverse Projects Across the Province
Further details reveal a range of projects across the other benefiting municipalities:
- Adro: Half a million euros will be used to address the roof of a building on Via Manzoni and to arrange Via Castello.
- Berzo Demo: One million euros will be invested in works for Piazza Sant’Eusebio, the historic heart of Berzo, and in reducing hydrogeological risk upstream of Saletto and State Road 42.
- Bovegno: 246,000 euros will be dedicated to territorial safety.
- Brione: A total of one million euros, with 500,000 euros for the gymnasium and 500,000 euros for the maintenance of municipal roads.
- Cerveno: The 870,000 euros allocated will support roads, the primary school, and the kindergarten.
- Paitone: 700,000 euros will go towards road maintenance and improving the safety of municipal buildings.
- Pian Camuno and Piancogno: Both municipalities will prioritize school-related projects.
- Rudiano: Funds will be directed towards road improvements.
- San Gervasio and Tavernole sul Mella: Each will receive one million euros to cover the costs of interventions against hydrogeological risk.
The comprehensive funding package underscores a concerted effort by the Italian government to bolster infrastructure and safety across the Brescia province, addressing critical needs in education, transportation, and environmental protection.
