Milan: Two Brothers Arrested for Sexual Assault, Robbery, and Battery After Nightclub Outing
Milan, Lombardy, Italy, May 9, 2026 – Two brothers, aged 17 and 21, have been arrested in Milan on charges of sexual assault, robbery, and battery. The arrests stem from an attack on a young woman and her two friends that occurred in the Moscova nightlife district in the early hours of April 8.
The warrants for their arrest were issued by the juvenile court and the ordinary court. Local newspapers had previously reported on the incident, which took place in the Corso Como area.
The Attack: A Request for a Cigarette Precedes Assault
The victim and her two friends had just left a well-known nightclub when they were approached by the two Ukrainian-born brothers in Largo La Foppa. The brothers allegedly used the pretext of asking for a cigarette to initiate contact. The younger brother then reportedly grabbed the young woman by the arm, separating her from her group. A short distance away, he allegedly forced her to endure a sexual assault, while his older brother prevented her two friends from intervening.
After a few moments, the friends managed to break free and stop the assault. One of them was then beaten by the 17-year-old.
Identification Through Surveillance and Victim Testimony
The two brothers, residents of Cinisello Balsamo, were identified through surveillance camera footage analyzed using the S.a.r.i. facial recognition software. They were subsequently recognized by the victims. The minor has been taken to the Beccaria juvenile detention center, while the older brother is currently held in Monza prison. The investigation was conducted by officers from the Garibaldi-Venezia police station.
This incident adds to a series of recent crime reports in Italy, including a 16-year-old in Palermo who killed his neighbor, claiming harassment, and ongoing investigations into the 2005 Garlasco murder case.
The arrests highlight the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address serious crimes and ensure public safety in urban areas like Milan.
