Milan, May 9 – The Mangiagalli Clinic in Milan experienced an unprecedented baby boom between Wednesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 7, welcoming 40 newborns in just 36 hours. An Unprecedented Surge in Births at Mangiagalli Clinic
The Policlinico’s official post, accompanied by images of the newborns and a mother with her baby, stated: “At Policlinico Milano, 40 pink and blue bows arrived in 36 hours, a record. What was supposed to be a quiet Thursday in early May turned out to be a wonderful explosion of new arrivals.” Specifically, 28 babies were born on Thursday alone, following a significant increase in births that began on Wednesday afternoon. Out of the 40 newborns, 23 were girls and 17 were boys, including two sets of twins.

The Nursery and Postpartum wards were particularly busy, with a continuous flow of new mothers and fathers. The post described scenes of parents engrossed in changing diapers and performing perfect baby baths, while mothers in more private corners nurtured their infants. “Everywhere, all around, there is life: along the corridors of the Postpartum ward, one bassinet after another passes by: inside, someone is sleeping, someone else is demanding attention,” the post read. Medical professionals and all healthcare staff were fully dedicated to their tiny patients and their families, working tirelessly during this period of high demand.

The post specified that in April alone, the number of newborns exceeded the previous year’s figures by 2.6%, with 50 more births since the beginning of the year compared to 2025. This indicates a growing trend in birth rates at the clinic. The announcement concluded with congratulations to the new parents and appreciation for the
