Milan Strengthens Security for Inter’s Scudetto Celebration and Tuttofood 2026
Milan, May 6, 2026 – The city of Milan is preparing for a series of high-profile events in the coming days and weeks, prompting the implementation of comprehensive security measures. These plans, focusing on ensuring public safety, were finalized during the latest meeting of the Provincial Public Order Committee, presided over by Prefect Claudio Sgaraglia.
The primary concerns addressed during the meeting included the 2026 edition of the international food exhibition “Tuttofood” and the upcoming celebrations for Inter Milan’s Scudetto victory. Additionally, security arrangements for the “Radio Italia Live – Il concerto” event in Piazza Duomo and the Milan-Atalanta football match were also discussed.
Enhanced Security for Tuttofood 2026
For “Tuttofood,” scheduled to take place from May 11 to May 14 at the Rho exhibition center, a reinforced surveillance zone, commonly referred to as a “red zone,” will be established in the areas adjacent to the exhibition grounds. This measure aims to guarantee maximum security for attendees and participants of the international event.
Inter Scudetto Celebration and Other Major Events
The committee also reviewed the organizational and security aspects for the highly anticipated celebrations of Inter Milan’s Scudetto victory on May 17. Details regarding crowd control, traffic management, and emergency response for this event are being meticulously planned to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all fans.
Furthermore, security protocols were put in place for “Radio Italia Live – Il concerto,” set for May 15 in Piazza Duomo, a central and popular location that is expected to draw a large crowd. The Milan-Atalanta football match, scheduled for May 10, also received specific security considerations.
Restrictions for Milan-Atalanta Match
In light of the National Observatory on Sporting Events’ directives, ticket sales for the Milan-Atalanta match will be restricted. Only residents of the Bergamo province will be permitted to purchase tickets, exclusively for the away supporters’ section, and only if they are subscribers to the Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio loyalty program. These measures are designed to manage fan attendance and prevent potential disturbances.
Key Stakeholders Present at the Meeting
The meeting saw the participation of senior provincial representatives from law enforcement agencies, representatives from the Milan Municipality, the Public Prosecutor at the Milan Court, Marcello Viola, and the president of Inter Milan Football Club, Giuseppe Marotta. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of all parties to ensure the smooth and safe execution of these significant events for the city and its residents.
The comprehensive security plan reflects Milan’s proactive approach to managing large-scale public gatherings and maintaining order, particularly during periods of heightened activity and celebration.
