ASIA Clears Illegal Waste Deposits in Naples’ Viale Kennedy

NAPLES, April 27, 2026 – The city of Naples has taken decisive action against illegal waste disposal in Viale Kennedy. Between Saturday and Sunday, ASIA, the municipal waste management company, intervened to remove six illegal waste containers and enhance separate waste collection services in the area.

Targeting Illicit Dumping and Improving Collection Efficiency

The operation aimed to achieve a dual objective: eliminate critical points that facilitated illegal dumping practices and optimize the efficiency of waste collection. New dedicated bins have been strategically placed near buildings and residences to make separate waste collection more accessible to citizens.

Viale Kennedy had become a notorious site for illegal waste deposits, attracting individuals from outside Naples who engaged in illicit dumping. The removal of these containers has already yielded positive results, discouraging indiscriminate waste disposal and restoring decorum to the area.

Citizen Cooperation is Crucial

Vincenzo Santagada, Naples’ Councillor for Green Areas and Health, emphasized the vital role of citizen participation in maintaining these improvements. “The observance of waste disposal rules is an indispensable element to consolidate the results achieved and prevent the recurrence of similar situations,” Santagada stated.

Ongoing Commitment to Cleanliness

Domenico Ruggiero, the Sole Administrator of ASIA, explained that the intervention in Viale Kennedy was a direct result of ongoing territorial monitoring. “We are constantly committed to combating illegal waste deposits, and we intervened to prevent dangerous and illicit behaviors in the area. We will continue with targeted interventions to ensure clean and usable streets for all citizens,” Ruggiero affirmed.

The initiative highlights the city’s commitment to improving urban cleanliness and promoting responsible waste management practices. The increased focus on separate waste collection and the removal of illegal dumps are expected to contribute to a more sustainable and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents.
