Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Fiumicino: Man Killed on Viale Coccia di Morto

Rome, April 26, 2026 – A tragic road accident occurred overnight between Friday and Saturday on Viale Coccia di Morto, a few kilometers from Rome. An unidentified man lost his life after being struck by a car while on the roadway. The incident also left three occupants of the car injured.

Dynamics of the Accident

According to initial reconstructions, the accident took place around 12:30 AM in a stretch of road connecting Fiumicino to Focene. The man, who was on foot, was reportedly hit by a passing vehicle. The impact was violent, and the pedestrian died instantly. The precise circumstances of the event, including the victim’s position on the road and any potential liabilities, are still under investigation.

Car Occupants Injured

At least three people were traveling in the involved vehicle. All sustained injuries and were promptly assisted by 118 medical personnel who arrived at the scene. The injured were transported in critical condition to Grassi Hospital in Ostia, though their current conditions are not yet known.

Road Closure and Ongoing Investigations

Traffic police officers were dispatched to the scene to conduct the necessary investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, while Carabinieri managed traffic and secured the area. The affected stretch of Viale Coccia di Morto remained closed to traffic in both directions for several hours, until dawn. Investigations are ongoing to clarify every detail of the tragedy, starting with the victim’s identity and the causes leading to the collision.
