Milan Design Week: Furniture Showroom Boom Across the City
Milan, April 21, 2026 – During the Milan Design Week, the city is experiencing a significant surge in new furniture showroom openings, restylings, and relocations. Both established brands and new players are choosing iconic districts and emerging areas to showcase their latest collections and innovative concepts.
Key Districts and Major Openings
The Durini and Brera design districts remain prime locations for furniture, lighting, accessories, and material brands. However, new developments are also emerging in other parts of the city.
- Poliform in Piazza della Scala: “This is not just a showroom, but a flagship designed to interpret the future of the brand,” explains CEO Marco Spinelli, describing the new space that fosters a dialogue between design, art, and the city.
- Bonaldo in Via Larga: Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Bonaldo inaugurates its first Milanese flagship at Via Larga 16. The 500-square-meter, three-level space is conceived as a design platform.
- Aerre Italia in Largo Augusto: Another debut is Aerre Italia at Largo Augusto 7. “Milan is the natural stage where the product meets the project, where a sofa becomes a living proposal. With the showroom in the Durini area, we are putting ourselves out there and showing who we really are,” says CEO Alessandro Arena.
San Babila and Other Noteworthy Locations
Near Piazza San Babila, Venini officially opens its flagship, active for several months, presenting the new ‘On the Rocks’ collection, designed by archistar Peter Marino. The collection prominently features lamps that balance weight, texture, and light.
At Corso Monforte 19/A, FontanaArte announces its anticipated and symbolic return to the city. The space, designed by Franco Raggi, is characterized by discreet elegance, stable forms, classic materials, and an ivory white palette with iconic blue and orange accents.
Nearby, Fornasetti unveils a complete restyling of its store on Corso Venezia, with a new entrance at Via Senato 2, executed by the international studio Tutto Bene. The redesigned store, spread across three levels, houses the brand’s universe, divided into Fornasetti Space, The Living Archive, and The Apartment.
La Redoute, an international e-commerce player, has chosen the Cadorna area, specifically Via Leopardi 26, to unveil its first showroom in the city, dedicated to its furniture brands La Redoute and Ampm. “The goal was to create a representative, vibrant place designed to make people feel immediately at home,” says Loredana Fartade, Country Director of La Redoute Italia.
Further Developments Across Milan
Additional new openings include:
- Verum in Corso Garibaldi: The Brianza-based company, specializing in technical products for design solutions, opens its space at Corso Garibaldi 125, fostering a dialogue between material, architecture, and technology.
