Major Drug Seizure in Tivoli: Nine Kilos of Cocaine Worth Over a Million Euros
Tivoli, April 7, 2026 – Police in Tivoli have confiscated nearly nine kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value exceeding one million euros, from a 50-year-old man with previous convictions. The significant drug bust followed an investigation prompted by suspicious activities.
The operation commenced after authorities received a tip-off regarding unusual movements at a car dismantling business. Officers initially searched the premises thoroughly but found no significant evidence. The focus of the investigation then shifted to the suspect’s residence, where a different scenario unfolded.
The Discovery: Cocaine and Cash
Confronted by the police, the 50-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, handed over eight heat-sealed packets containing the cocaine. In addition to the narcotics, officers also found and seized 4,800 euros in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
The individual was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. He faces charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotic substances. The seized cocaine, if it had reached the retail market, would have generated over one million euros, highlighting the scale of the operation disrupted by the police.
Investigation Underway
Investigators are continuing their work to determine the full extent of the drug trafficking network and any potential accomplices. The successful seizure represents a significant blow to the local drug trade in the Tivoli area.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related crime and ensure public safety in the region. The police emphasize their commitment to acting on public reports and maintaining vigilance against illicit activities.
