Kidnapped and Assaulted Over Debt: Two Young Men Escape Rome Apartment, Three Arrested

Trapped and fearing for their lives, the two victims found themselves on the apartment’s balcony. In a desperate act of courage, they scaled the balcony railing, managing to reach an adjacent apartment. From there, they immediately called for help, alerting both the fire department and the Carabinieri.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Following the escape, Carabinieri from the Roma Monte Sacro company conducted a thorough search of the apartment. Their investigation yielded significant evidence, including ski masks, cable ties, adhesive tape, and blood traces, all indicative of a premeditated attack. Photographic recognition and witness testimonies helped piece together the roles of the three accomplices, aged 34, 30, and 52, and confirmed the use of a firearm during the aggression. The young victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of their severe injuries.
During the execution of the arrest warrants, one of the three captors resisted the officers, sustaining minor injuries before being subdued. After receiving medical attention at S. Pertini Hospital, he was transferred to Regina Coeli prison. The other two accomplices were placed under house arrest and fitted with electronic monitoring bracelets.
