Corsico, Milan – Starting Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, significant redevelopment works will commence on the parking areas along Via Milano in Corsico. These works, which are part of a broader urban requalification project that has already seen the complete overhaul of the sidewalks, are expected to conclude by April 7th, 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to take note of the temporary changes to parking availability and traffic flow.
Affected Areas and Schedule
The initial phase of the works, scheduled from April 1st to April 7th, will focus on two distinct sections of Via Milano:
- Between Via Sant’Adele and Via Diaz
- Between Via Diaz and Via Fiume
Following this, subsequent works will target the parking area located between Via Diaz and Via Concordia. The exact dates for this latter phase will be communicated at a later time.
Parking Restrictions and Access
During the daily working hours, access to the affected parking areas will be strictly prohibited. However, the municipality has made provisions to minimize inconvenience for residents:
- Daily Reopening: Parking will be reinstated every evening from 6:30 PM until 7:00 AM the following morning.
- Weekend Access: Parking will be fully accessible throughout the Easter weekend.
Residents are encouraged to utilize these evening and weekend windows for parking or seek alternative arrangements during the daytime closures.
Future Phases of the Project
The current parking redevelopment is only one part of a comprehensive plan to improve Corsico’s infrastructure. Future phases of the project will include:
- Night Asphalt Paving: This will take place on Via Milano and Via Vittorio Emanuele II (specifically the section between Via 2 Giugno and Ponte Liberazione, including the bridge ramps). These operations will be conducted at night to further reduce disruption.
- Sidewalk Requalification: The uphill ramp on the Naviglio side will also undergo sidewalk requalification.
Further details regarding the schedule and specific impacts of these upcoming works will be provided by the Works Department as they become available.
