Naples, March 29 – SSC Napoli has stepped in to support the reconstruction of the historic Sannazaro Theatre, located in the heart of Chiaia, following a devastating fire on February 17, 2026. The football club has initiated a solidarity campaign, promoting an auction of 50 limited-edition framed jerseys, each signed and authenticated by Kevin De Bruyne.

SSC Napoli’s Initiative for Cultural Heritage

The fire at the Sannazaro Theatre represented a significant loss for the city and its artistic heritage. In response, SSC Napoli, in collaboration with its partner MatchWornShirt, organized a series of auctions. These auctions, titled “SSC Napoli | Teatro Sannazaro Charity Auction,” commenced on Friday, March 27.

Auction Details and Schedule

The 50 framed jerseys are divided into five sessions, with each session featuring ten pieces. Each session lasts 31 hours, and new sessions are scheduled to launch on March 27, March 30, April 1, April 3, and April 6. The collection includes 10 different types of frames, with only five copies made for each type. The entire proceeds from these auctions will be donated to the Committee for the Rebirth of the Sannazaro Theatre.

By participating in these auctions, fans have the opportunity to acquire a unique piece of club history while directly contributing to the restoration of the beloved “jewel box of Via Chiaia.”

Statements from Theatre and Club Representatives

Lara Sansone, artistic director, and Salvatore Vanorio, administrator of the Sannazaro Theatre, expressed their gratitude for the initiative. “We are honored that an excellence like SSC Napoli has decided to actively support the rebirth of our beloved Sannazaro Theatre, destroyed by the devastating fire of February 17, 2026, through such a wonderful initiative. ‘Tradition, art, and identity’ are three values that unite football and theater, as loudly proclaimed by the fans of the Azzurri jersey, and which SSC Napoli perfectly represents,” they stated.

Tommaso Bianchini, general director of the business area of the Neapolitan club, emphasized the club’s broader responsibility. “SSC Napoli has a responsibility that goes beyond the field and an increasingly close bond with its city. This initiative aims to involve the club and its fans in the reconstruction of the Sannazaro Theatre, a symbolic place of Neapolitan culture, with the hope that it will soon shine again,” Bianchini added.

The Impact of the Fire and the Road to Recovery

The fire on February 17, 2026, caused extensive damage to the Sannazaro Theatre, a cultural landmark in Naples. The reconstruction efforts are crucial for preserving the city’s rich artistic legacy. The funds raised through this auction will be vital in bringing the theatre back to its former glory, allowing it to continue hosting performances and enriching the cultural life of Naples.

The engagement of SSC Napoli in this cause highlights the strong connection between the football club and the local community, demonstrating a shared commitment to supporting and rebuilding vital cultural institutions.

The auctions are being held on the dedicated platform of MatchWornShirt, providing a transparent and accessible way for individuals to contribute to the theatre’s revival.
