Pepper Spray Incident Disrupts Milan High School, Four Students Intoxicated

Milan, March 27 – Four 17-year-old students at a high school in Milan were affected by pepper spray on Friday morning, March 27, requiring medical attention. The incident, which occurred around 9:45 AM, prompted an immediate response from emergency services, including the Regional Emergency Agency (Areu), the fire department with its NBCR (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Radiological) unit, and State Police.

As reported by Milano Today, the alarm led to the immediate interruption of lessons. Several students experienced eye irritation, coughing, and respiratory difficulties due to the diffused spray.

Emergency Response and Student Condition

Areu dispatched three medical teams, including ambulances and an auto-nursing unit, to the school. Medical personnel provided on-site treatment to the four affected students. Fortunately, none of the students required urgent transport to a hospital, indicating their conditions were not severe enough for further hospitalization.

The fire department’s NBCR specialists were tasked with the decontamination of the premises. This involved verifying the air saturation within the building, a standard procedure for such incidents to ensure the safety of the environment.

Investigation Underway to Identify Responsible Party

The State Police have initiated an investigation to identify the individual responsible for deploying the pepper spray. Detectives are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, considering both a deliberate act and an accidental discharge as possibilities. The identity of the perpetrator remains unknown at this stage of the investigation.

The incident highlights concerns regarding safety within school environments and the potential for disruptive and harmful acts. Authorities are working to ascertain the full details and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
