New exhibitions, meetings, and activities for all ages are set to animate the cultural week promoted by the Capitoline Superintendence for Cultural Heritage. The program, supported by Roma Capitale and the Department of Culture, features events spread across museums and historical sites in the city, with initiatives also linked to “World Water Day” and “Father’s Day.”
Exhibitions: From Photography to Contemporary Art
The Museum of Rome in Trastevere is expanding its exhibition offerings with two photographic projects. Starting March 25, “À Rome la nuit. Photographs by Hervé Gloaguen” will open, presenting images taken between 1975 and 1995 as part of the 70th anniversary of the Rome-Paris twinning. Meanwhile, “Lungo le Strade Blu. Along the Blue Highways,” featuring ninety shots by Francesco Conversano dedicated to life in the United States, continues until October 4.
At Villa Torlonia, the exhibition “Antonio Scordia. Reality Becoming Vision,” showcasing about eighty works including paintings and documents, has been extended until April 6. Within the same complex, the Serra Moresca, a unique example of architecture inspired by Granada’s Alhambra, is also open to visitors.
Books, Conferences, and Museum Encounters
The Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi will host two events as part of the “Books at the Museum” series. On March 20, the volume “Rocco Falciano” will be presented, followed by “Francesco Antonio Franzoni (1734-1818). A Carrara Artist at the Court of the Popes” on March 26.
Also at Palazzo Braschi, on March 24, the “Rome Tells…” series continues with the meeting “Opening Thresholds. Accessibility and Mediation as Practices of Passage,” focusing on inclusive projects in cultural venues.
Guided Tours and Archaeology for Citizens and Tourists
On Sunday, March 22, free guided tours of the exhibition “Greece in Rome” will return to the Capitoline Museums, with routes in Italian and English enriched by immersive video projections.
On the same day, to mark “World Water Day,” thematic activities are planned, including “A River… of Paper” and itineraries such as “The Nymphaeum of Via degli Annibaldi and the Reflections of Water,” “The Waters of the Circus Maximus,” and “The Giants of Water in the Aqueduct Park.”
Family Activities and Inclusive Paths
Among the events dedicated to the public, on Sunday, March 22, the Ara Pacis Museum will host “Me and Dad: Family Portraits at the Ara Pacis,” designed for children and families.
The “aMICi” cycle of initiatives also continues, offering accessible visits and thematic routes, including those at the Casina delle Civette and the Pietro Canonica Museum.
Immersive Experiences and Planetarium Shows
At the Circus Maximus, the “Circo Maximo Experience” continues, an augmented reality visit that allows exploration of the ancient building with 3D viewers.
Finally, the Planetarium of Rome will feature shows for adults and children, including “Return to the Stars,” “Interstellar – The Journey of the Voyager Probes,” and “Roundabout Among the Planets,” offering a journey through science and popularization.
