The Neapolitan entertainment world mourns the passing of Cinzia Oscar, a well-known neomelodic voice. She would have turned 64 on October 20 but had been battling a severe illness for some time, facing it “with the strength of an untamed lioness,” as described by Antonio D’Addio, a journalist and long-time friend of the artist, on his social media today.

A Childhood Start in Show Business

Cinzia Oscar, whose real name was Vincenza Testa, became familiar with the spotlight from a very young age. D’Addio, who also shared a long series of photos of the late artist, recalled that the “Italian singer and actress began her career by chance, as a very young child, at 7 years old. It was at the theatre, thanks to her father, a member of the Trio Oscar, that she had to replace her brother who had fallen ill.
