19-Year-Old Arrested in Naples for Hashish Possession and Dealing
Naples, March 8 – On Saturday, March 7, the State Police arrested a 19-year-old Neapolitan for the illicit possession and dealing of narcotic substances. The arrest took place in the Porta Nolana area, following an observation by officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station.
During a routine patrol in Vico Pergola a Nolana, officers noticed the young man approaching a mailbox. He then retrieved an package from it and, in exchange for a banknote, handed something over to an individual who quickly left the scene and disappeared.
Police Intervention and Seizure of Drugs and Money
The police promptly intervened to interrupt the criminal activity. They apprehended the 19-year-old, finding him in possession of 20 packages of hashish, with a total gross weight of approximately 32 grams. Additionally, they seized 160 euros in various denominations.
Consequently, the suspect was arrested by the operating personnel for drug-related offenses. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug dealing in the city of Naples.
Context of Drug-Related Arrests in the Region
This arrest follows other recent drug-related incidents in the Campania region. Just prior to this event, a 26-year-old was arrested in Pompeii for drug possession and carrying a knife on State Road 145. Furthermore, a 38-year-old was apprehended in Calata Santi Cosma e Damiano, Naples, for possessing drugs and ammunition. In Caivano, a 49-year-old was taken into custody for dealing drugs while under house arrest, subsequently being transferred to prison.
These incidents underscore the persistent challenge of drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the area, prompting continuous vigilance and action from local authorities.
