Inter President Giuseppe Marotta Appointed Sports Ambassador in Oratory with CSI Milan
Milan, January 28, 2026 – Inter President Giuseppe Marotta has been officially appointed “Ambassador” of sport in the oratory by CSI Milan. The announcement was made during a training meeting with 400 CSI Milan coaches and managers, held yesterday evening at the Pio XII Hall in Via Sant’Antonio, the institutional headquarters of the organization.
The appointment highlights Marotta’s authentic and deep connection to the world of small grassroots sports clubs and oratories, a commitment that was renewed and expressed during the event.
Marotta: “Sport is a container of values”
During the meeting, Marotta underscored the profound significance of sport in personal development. “Sport is a container of so many values: respect for the opponent, fair play, humility, and courage. A combination that makes it a human activity of great importance,” stated the Inter President.
He further elaborated on the unique role of the oratory context in nurturing these values. “The oratory context is one that makes all these values sublime and exceptional through the practice of various sports disciplines. Therefore, sport is the trait d’union between a larger container, the oratory, and the most essential values that sport represents, which each of us must carry within us and treasure,” Marotta added.
Massimo Achini on Marotta’s appointment
Massimo Achini, President of CSI Milan, formally announced Marotta’s new role. Achini praised Marotta’s dedication, stating, “We recognize in him a man of sport capable of staying close to young people and maintaining constant attention to the educational dimension. Marotta’s full availability to the managers and technicians of sports clubs stems precisely from this shared identity, which is rooted in his personal experience of oratory formation.”
Providing practical tools for grassroots sports
The primary objective of the meeting was to equip those in leadership positions within CSI clubs with practical tools. These clubs serve as crucial educational strongholds in the community. The event successfully combined the vision of professional sports with the fundamental values of grassroots sports, as promoted by the Italian Sports Centre.
The gathering aimed to bridge the gap between high-level professionalism and the core principles of sport, ensuring that these values are upheld and disseminated at the foundational level of youth sports. The 400 coaches and managers in attendance received valuable insights and guidance to enhance their roles as educators and mentors within their respective clubs.
This initiative by CSI Milan and the involvement of Giuseppe Marotta underscore the importance of fostering a strong ethical and educational framework within youth sports, emphasizing character development alongside athletic achievement.
