Federica’s Body Discovered in Anguillara, Husband Arrested
Anguillara, Rome – The tragic disappearance of 41-year-old Federica has culminated in the discovery of her body buried at an excavation company in Anguillara, north of Rome. Her husband, Claudio Carlomagno, 45, has been arrested in connection with her murder. The discovery was made in the early hours of Wednesday, January 18, at the site of Carlomagno’s excavation business, less than two kilometers from the home of Federica’s parents.
The body was reportedly buried under two and a half meters of soil and debris. While official recognition by relatives is pending, Federica’s sister, Stefania Torzullo, confirmed to the Carabinieri of the Bracciano company that bracelets and a necklace found on the body belonged to her sister, who had been missing since the evening of January 8 from the couple’s villa in Via Costantino.
Husband Arrested, Remains Silent
Claudio Carlomagno was detained in the late afternoon and transferred to Civitavecchia prison by the Carabinieri of the Ostia investigative unit. He had previously sought refuge at his parents’ home, where his mother, Maria Messenio, serves as the Security Councillor for the Municipality of Anguillara. Carlomagno has remained silent, refusing to answer questions, and has only met with his lawyer, Andrea Miroli. Miroli stated that his client had intended to turn himself in.
At present, Carlomagno has not been charged with concealment of a body or with having accomplices. Investigators, coordinated by Civitavecchia prosecutor Alberto Liguori, suspect he murdered his wife in their villa between the night of January 8 and 9. Traces of blood were found in the bedroom wardrobe, suggesting she may have been hit against a wall. More bloodstains were found at the entrance, indicating the body was dragged, and in the trunk of his car, where it was allegedly loaded. Blood was also found on Carlomagno’s work suit, on a mechanical vehicle, and in a quarry. The RIS (Scientific Investigations Department) is awaiting official confirmation that these samples belong to Federica.

According to the Carabinieri, Carlomagno left home at 7:30 AM in his Kia Sportage with Federica’s body inside. He drove to his company’s premises, where security cameras recorded him. There, he allegedly used an excavator to dig a deep grave for his wife’s body. During this time, he reportedly messaged his mother-in-law, Roberta, pretending to be Federica and giving instructions for preparing breakfast for their 10-year-old son. Later that afternoon, upon learning of Federica’s disappearance, particularly after colleagues called because she hadn’t arrived at work, Carlomagno accompanied his in-laws to file a missing person’s report with the Carabinieri.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death and whether Federica could have been saved.
