Naples, January 10 – Five individuals have been served with precautionary measures by the investigating judge of Naples, following a request from the Naples Public Prosecutor’s Office led by Nicola Gratteri. Two suspects have been imprisoned, two placed under house arrest, and one is subject to the obligation to report to the judicial police. The charges are severe: aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping, committed in concert.
“Clockwork Orange” Robbery in Posillipo
The scene of the crime was a prominent residence on Via Posillipo, which for one night was transformed into a set of violence and fear. On November 5, 2024, two armed men managed to enter the apartment. They did not seek a direct confrontation with the owner, a Neapolitan entrepreneur well-known in local circles, but targeted those present in the house at the time. A security guard and a domestic worker were taken hostage. According to investigators, the domestic worker was not an unwitting victim but an accomplice in the criminal scheme.
Victims Bound, Luxury Watches Stolen
The two victims were quickly neutralized: their hands and feet bound with cable ties, eliminating any possibility of resistance. At that point, the robbers were able to move calmly inside the residence, heading straight for the most coveted items. Luxury watches, pieces of great economic and symbolic value, were stolen one after another. The total loot, according to estimates, amounted to approximately 500,000 euros.
Investigation Reveals Complex Scheme
Immediately after the heist, an investigative operation was launched. The Naples Public Prosecutor’s Office coordinated the investigations entrusted to the Flying Squad, led by Giovanni Leuci, with the support of the Posillipo Police Station. The testimonies of the victims and anyone who might have seen or heard something, combined with complex technical activities, allowed for the reconstruction of the mosaic.
This revealed a more articulated dynamic than initially appeared. Not only the two armed men who entered the house, but at least three other individuals allegedly participated in the action: two acting as “sentinels,” tasked with monitoring the area and signaling any dangers, and an internal “facilitator,” a family employee, who allegedly facilitated the entry and movements of the robbers. For the escape, vehicles obtained through theft were reportedly used.
A meticulously planned operation, which today receives an initial judicial response. The definitive ascertainment of responsibilities now rests with the judiciary.
