Christmas Holidays at Bioparco di Roma: A Guide to Family Fun (December 26, 2025 – January 6, 2026)

Bioparco di Roma is set to transform into a hub of festive activities for families during the Christmas holidays, running from December 26, 2025, to January 6, 2026. A comprehensive calendar of events promises engaging experiences designed to bring visitors closer to the animal kingdom through games, stories, and interactive workshops.

Special Events and Games (December 26 – January 6)

St. Stephen’s Day (December 26): Animal Tombola

On St. Stephen’s Day, two special tombolas will take place at the Elephant Hall at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Instead of numbers, Bioparco animals will be drawn. Each child receives a card and must find the drawn animals while answering quizzes and completing fun challenges.

’31 at Bioparco’ Game

An exciting game called ’31 at Bioparco’ will be held daily in the park from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Participants receive a card at the entrance and must find other cards throughout the park to reach a score of 31 or as close as possible, using a maximum of three cards. Prizes await those who beat the ‘bank’ score.

Creative Workshop: ‘Storytelling Cards’ (January 4)

On Sunday, January 4, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Elephant Hall will host the ‘Storytelling Cards’ creative workshop. Children can use old magazines and newspapers to cut out images and glue them onto cardboard. These cards will then be used to collectively invent a story.

Befana-themed Manual Workshops

For younger children, several manual workshops are dedicated to ‘Waiting for the Befana’:

  • Befana’s House Construction: Decorate and assemble boxes using pop-up techniques.
  • Befana Decorations: Create and color decorations in anticipation of Befana’s arrival.
  • ‘Befana’s Face’: Craft Befana’s face using recycled materials.

Lemur Feeding Activity (January 4)

At 11:30 AM at the Ring-tailed Lemur area, children can join the zookeepers to prepare a special meal for the lemurs: a stocking filled with vegetables, fresh and dried fruit, and carob, a sweet and nutritious legume.

Epiphany Treasure Hunt: ‘In Search of the Golden Stocking’ (January 6)

On Epiphany Day, a grand team treasure hunt titled ‘In Search of the Golden Stocking’ will take place. Explore Bioparco, learn interesting facts about Befana, and complete four challenges. Each challenge earns a colored candy, and collecting all four leads to the final clue for the golden stocking. Booking is required by January 5 at: [email protected].

Educational Activities and Animal Encounters (December 26 – January 6)

‘Survival of the Fittest’ Activity

From December 26 to January 6, from 11:00 AM to 3:15 PM, participate in the ‘Survival of the Fittest’ activity with educational staff. Observe animals up close in the lab to understand how their shapes, colors, and behaviors are adaptations to their natural environment. Animals include Madagascar geckos, stick insects, red-footed tortoises, poison dart frogs, toads, bearded dragons, axolotls, and chameleons.

Animal Feeding Times

Don’t miss the daily animal feeding sessions, a unique opportunity to learn about the park’s residents and their characteristics with the zoological staff:

  • 11:00 AM: Giraffes
  • 11:30 AM: Ring-tailed Lemurs
  • 12:00 PM: Elephants
  • 2:00 PM: Chimpanzees
  • 3:00 PM: Sea Lions
  • 3:30 PM: African Penguins
